
Kimberly Rau
HBSC(KIN), C. PED (C), CANADIAN CERTIFIED PEDORTHIST
Kim began her career as the original associate of Pedorthic Services in 1986 and continues to practice in the Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding area. She has an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo and completed her Canadian Pedorthics Certification in 1990.
Kim played an integral role in establishing and educating students in the Certificate in Pedorthics which advanced to become the Diploma in Pedorthics, a joint venture between the national Pedorthic Association of Canada and Western University. She has been involved in the training and mentoring of many pedorthists as Kimberly Rau & Associates by Kintec serves as a practicum site for pedorthic students. As well as a consultant to the insurance industry, Kim spent many years on PAC’s Insurance and Government Relations Committee whose responsibilities are to educate these agencies in order to protect the public and ensure continued support of the services offered by Canadian Certified Pedorthists.
In her spare time, Kimberly enjoys running, playing basketball and long walks and hikes which is a blessing being as her next favourite pass time is baking and consuming the many treats prepared in her kitchen.

Kalsey Smith
BA(HKIN), C. PED (C), CANADIAN CERTIFIED PEDORTHIST
Kalsey’s interest in the Pedorthic profession was sparked during her undergrad, where she had the opportunity to visit a Gait Biomechanics Lab at a local hospital. She was hooked. She graduated from The University of Western Ontario in 2014 and received her Bachelor of Arts with Honours Specialization in Kinesiology. She then completed her Diploma in Pedorthics at Western University in 2015. Over the course of the program, Kalsey completed two of her practicums at Kimberly Rau and Associates by Kintec, and has been a part or the KRA team ever since.
As an athlete, Kalsey developed her interest and love for Kinesiology and human movement. She was a competitive swimmer for 15 years and played Volleyball, Basketball, Discus/Shot-Put, and Badminton throughout her athletic career.
In her spare time, Kalsey enjoys swimming, weekend pick-up games, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.

Emma Patterson
HBSC.(KIN), C. PED (C)
Emma graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2023 with an Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology, building on an early interest in human movement shaped by more than 10 years of competitive dance and high school rugby.
After graduation, Emma joined Kintec Waterloo as a Fit Expert, gaining experience with footwear solutions and discovering Pedorthics. She completed her Diploma in Pedorthics at Western University in 2024 and is now a Canadian Certified Pedorthist, providing individualized care through custom foot orthotics, footwear, compression socks, and sports medicine products. Emma divides her clinical time between Kimberly Rau & Associates by Kintec and the Kintec Footwear and Orthotics location on Willis Way in Waterloo
Outside the clinic, Emma enjoys running, strength training, traveling, and time with family and friends. She supports patients in staying active and continuing the activities they love.

Alexis Cantarutti
BA (KIN), C. Ped (C)
Alexis graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with a degree in Kinesiology, where she developed a deep interest in human movement and anatomy. Her passion began during her 8 years playing competitive soccer, where she first became fascinated by injury rehabilitation and biomechanics. After sustaining an injury, she was introduced to the world of Pedorthics during a visit to Kimberly Rau & Associates by Kintec, where she was assessed and fitted with custom foot orthotics.
In addition to her clinical time as a pedorthist at Kimberly Rau & Associates by Kintec, she also works at our Kintec Footwear and Orthotics location on Willis Way in Waterloo. As a fit expert and pedorthist, she provides personalized care in footwear, compression sock, bracing and other sport medicine product fittings in addition to orthotic therapy. Known for her attention to detail and patient-first approach, she works closely with patients to help them move more comfortably and confidently to lead an active pain-free life.
Outside of work, Alexis enjoys spending time with friends and family, attending country music festivals, and golfing in her spare time.
